The butterfly bar is an absolute innovation in the field of mouthpieces. The anatomically correct shape combined with a broader surface in the tongue area creates the optimum amount of room for this sensitive muscle with the possibility of a very gentle effect. Horses show they are feeling at ease by increased chewing and more acceptance of the bit. If a stronger effect on the horse‘s mouth is needed, the angulation of the bit in the mouth can be altered with a sidepiece that acts as a lever. The increased pressure on specific points can achieve the communication desired. When the pressure is reduced, the butterfly mouthpiece goes back to the comfortable position.The loose ring means a greater mobility of the bit in the mouth. The snaffle is therefore a bit for horses who prefer a "more mobile" bit in their mouth. The ring runs very evenly in its copper sockets and the better durability increases the lifespan of the bit substantially.

The innovative design of the mouthpiece also ensures a better acceptance of the bit and facilitates subtle communication between horse and rider. The beris mouthpieces are made of a food safe plastic compound, processed and with a surface finish unequalled so far in the field of plastic bits. Their surface is very smooth and they slide easily in the mouth, even if the horse doesn´t produce much saliva. Practically all horses like our mouthpieces.
